REFUSED - Nythe Road Solar Farm Extension

The application by Elgin Energy to extend the Nythe Solar Farm has been refused. There is a 31 page document that accomanies the refusal, ending with 10 reasons to support the decision by Somerset Council’s East Planning Team. See below. Case officer Ed Winter refused it under delegated powers - a most unusual move because major projects usually go to committee. The Refusal is down to the huge amount of time and energy that the SOS team, CPRE, and individuals, and adjacent PCs, and others, have invested in the campaign to stop Elgin Energy exploiting our landscape, both farming and wild. Unfortunately, we have to assume EE will Appeal.
